The Test Kitchen
TASTING MENU
The honest one-liner
The Test Kitchen is Virgin’s fixed-course tasting menu where the dishes change by menu rotation, not by you ordering off a standard menu.
At a glance
  • Cuisine: tasting menu, concept-led courses
  • Vibe: multi-course set menu with rotating menu versions
  • Where: deck 6 mid-ship
  • When: dinner
  • Booking: reservations recommended, walk-ins can work if you time it right
What makes The Test Kitchen different
You are not choosing from a long list. You are saying yes to a set progression of courses and the fun is in the format and the surprises.
Menus rotate across sailings (often referred to as menu A, B and C) so repeat visits can feel genuinely different depending on what is running that night.
What to expect
  • A multi-course meal that takes longer than most other venues.
  • Some courses will be brilliant and some might not be your thing. That is normal for a tasting menu.
  • If you prefer control, familiar classics, or quick dining, this is not the best fit.
Who The Test Kitchen suits
Book The Test Kitchen if you want:
  • A tasting menu format
  • Something more experimental than the other restaurants
  • A slower dinner built around courses
You can skip it if you prefer:
  • Picking exactly what you want from a menu
  • A quick meal
  • Familiar comfort food
Red Wave recommendation
  • Book this on a night you are not rushing to a show straight afterwards.
  • If you are travelling with picky eaters, do not force it. Choose a safer venue and everyone wins.
